William Webster Obituary

On September 10, 2017, William "Bill" D. Webster was peacefully called home to the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loving family. He was the oldest son of Clarence Webster and Nellie Spires, born on March 28, 1929, in Mancelona, Michigan. Bill was a proud veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War in Fujiyama, Japan. He loved fishing, gardening, cooking, bowling, swimming, and skiing, but most of all he loved sharing his life stories. His talent for tall tales will truly be missed and his memories will never be forgotten by all those he touched with his enthusiastic storytelling.

Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marita Daluz Webster, and his children Diana Malett, Rosanne (David) Malett, William (Pun) Webster, Mary Joy Webster, Pamela Webster, Patricia Webster, and Robert (Chrissy) Webster; his grandchildren Kimberly, Steven, Michael, Erin, Marina, Maria, Richard, Derek, Mikaela, Jordan, Maryssa, Jaxon, Jacynda, Marcos, Rajynna, and Cameron; his great grandchildren Lane, Makenzie, Brendon, and Bentley; his sisters Nancy Williams, Judith Arntz, and Sherry Schultz, and his brother Theodore Webster. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard Webster.

A rosary will be held at 10:15 a.m. and mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Mission Church on September 19, 2017, followed by interment with military honors at St. Jude Columbarium. A reception will be held in the parish hall. Contributions may be made to Father James B. Hay school.

The Webster family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home.
