After a long, full life William E "Bill" Walzer passed away on June 23, 2020. He was born April 13, 1936 in Sterling, Illinois and had just celebrated his 84th birthday.
After high school graduation from Rock Falls High School (Illinois) Bill hitchhiked from his home to Santa Cruz, California and back. On his return home he joined the Air Force. He spent 20 years in the Air Force as a Cryptologist with tours in England, the Philippines and two tours in Vietnam. When he retired he attended the University of Wyoming (Go Cowboys!) receiving his BS in psychology and MS in counseling. He then worked as a counselor for the Veterans Administration. He retired after 10 years of serving the veterans.
Bill was active in the Masons, Eastern Star, Amaranth, Shriners, Elks, Moose, VFW and U.S. Coast Guard auxiliary. He was the chief clown in the Shriners in Wyoming in the 1980s and loved working with children.
He loved fishing, boating, reading and music.
He is survived by his wife, Cecile; sons, Larry Walzer (Beda) and Michael Walzer; daughters, Beth Mitchell and Becky Traub (Randy); nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces, his twin brother's children and grandchildren. Then there were Ceciles children who loved him dearly.
Bill will be remembered and missed by all.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
