Wilburn R. Drake, 91, passed away on December 23, 2017 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on April 9, 1926 in Norton, Texas to Albert and Ruth (Sputell) Drake.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Drake of the family home; daughter, Dedra Ann (Jack) Mottet of CA; step-son, Larry (Lory) Lopez of Tularosa, NM; step-daughter, JoAnn Lopez of Tularosa, NM; sister, Della Ruth Smith of Alamogordo, NM; two step-brothers, Nestor Montoya of Alamogordo, NM and Jimmy Montoya of Nacagdoches, TX; two Step-sisters, Nina Cano of Alamogordo, NM and Doris Salazar of Tularosa, NM and many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth C. Drake; father, Albert Lecil Drake; mother, Ruth Mildred; brother, Lecil Drake; sister, Kay Bradley; step-brothers, Demetrio Montoya, Tony Montoya and Bennie Montoya and a step-sister, Kathy Arnold, .

The memorial service for Wilburn Drake will be held at 10:00 AM, on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Tucker officiating.

Private inurnment will take place at Monte Vista Cemetery at a later date.

Cremation has taken place at PCS.

The Drake family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
