Walter Abram Crawford, 89, passed away on November 17, 2024, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on July 25, 1935, in Blackshear, Georgia to Woodrow and Naomi (Minchew) Crawford.
Walter served in the United States Air Force for more than 20 years, was employed with Holloman Air Force Base and White Sands Missile Range, and was active in the Veterans of Foreign War Post 7686.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Crawford; son, Noel David (Sharon) Durham; grandsons, John Michael, Daniel Durham, Sean Durham; great-granddaughter, Gabriela Durham; great-grandson, Dexter Durham; and many more extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Crawford; mother, Naomi Crawford; brothers, Andrew “Jack” Crawford, David Crawford; sisters, Linda McClain and Betty Crews.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00pm, Thursday, December 5th, 2024, at Scenic Chapel – 1334 N. Scenic Drive, Alamogordo, New Mexico 88310 with Pastor Jay Calderara officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso TX (date pending).
The Crawford family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
