Obituary

Vicki L Strein, 70, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 15th in Alamogordo, NM.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gary, of Alamogordo; Daughter, Kelly Ledesma of Las Cruces;  son, Christopher, and his wife, Katrina of Seattle, WA; four grandchildren, Malia and Sophia Ledesma of Las Cruces, Keenan Strein of Seattle, WA, Hudson Turner of Winston Salem, NC; Sister, Lori Coffelt and husband Kerry of Las Cruces; Sister, Bonnie Chiles and her daughter, Megan of Las Cruces; Sister, Lisa Chiles of Reno, NV; Brothers-in-law, Robert Strein and David Strein of Albuquerque, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, William; mother, Mary Ann; and son, Collin.

Vicki was born December 19th, 1952 in Los Alamos, New Mexico to father, William Chiles, and mother, Mary Anne Chiles. She met the love of her life, Gary, and married him shortly after, June 26th, 1973. Vicki and Gary were only 3 months away from celebrating 50 years of loving marriage. Vicki and Gary moved from Los Alamos to Las Cruces a few months after their marriage in 1973. All three of Vicki’s children were born in Las Cruces over the coming years following their move there. Vick worked In various jobs in Las Cruces, from food service for the schools, a nurses aide, and helped her husband, Gary with multiple small businesses that they’ve owned over the years. Ultimately though, Vicki was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Vicki and Gary then moved to High Rolls, NM in 1997 with their youngest son, Collin.

Anyone that knew Vicki would say that she was the sweetest person, always looking for ways to help others. This included her passion of sharing encouragement from the Bible to people out in the field ministry. There weren’t many things that brought her more joy than spending time sharing her beliefs, and what the future holds for us all. Vicki was a kind and caring person - always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone that was in need. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, the outdoors, the mountains, her pets, and shopping. Ultimately nothing brought her more joy than sharing quality time with family, loved ones and friends. She was always a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Vicki was a one of a kind and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Cremation has taken place, and the memorial service will be held Saturday, April 29th, 2023 AT 2:00 PM AT The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1401 12th St in Alamogordo, NM.
