Sonny Carl Hansen

Sonny Carl Hansen, 63, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, passed away on January 15, 2021, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Funeral /visitation services will be held from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. on Monday, January 25, 2021, at the Scenic Chapel, 1334 North Scenic Drive in Alamogordo, NM.

The burial and graveside service immediately following the visitation around 1:30 P.M. at the Sixteen Springs Cemetery located about 8.1 miles east of Cloudcroft on US 82, take Sixteen Springs Canyon Road. Go North for about 6 miles. Just after crossing the creek and rounding two curves, you will find the cemetery on the left side.

Sonny was born in Alamogordo to Bill and Wanda Hansen on January 20, 1957. He graduated from Alamogordo High School and attended NMSU in Las Cruces, NM. He married Linda Hughes On February 11, 1985. He worked in construction for over 20 years until he became an owner/operator for Swift Transportation in 1999. He received many awards for his impressive driving skills and his training of new drivers during his years with Swift.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Hansen, his father Bill Hansen, and his son Justin Lobato.

Sonny is survived by his mother, Wanda Hansen, his daughter, Cindy Aguilar, son-in-law, Joel Aguilar, Grandchildren, Taylor Isaacs, Mason Meyers, Layla Aguilar, Amelia Lobato. Great-grandchildren, Camden Isaacs & Kinley Isaacs.

Due to the COVID Pandemic, occupancy at the visitation is limited to no more than 5 people at a time. Further, attendance at the graveside is limited to 5 people as well. Please practice social distancing at all times. Thank you for adhering to the Department of Health mandate.
