Ronny Dean

Ronny Eugene Dean, 79, passed away on March 5, 2023 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on January 23, 1944 in Paris, Illinois to Edward and Helen (DeMoss) Dean Benjamin. 

He was a member of NRA and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Posse.  He was the coach of many adult softball teams and was known as "coach" and "grandpa" to many.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Hammack Dean of Alamogordo; step-children, Leonard Schorn of Alamogordo, Becky (Michael) of Tularosa, Kenneth (Krystalina) Schorn of Peoria; son, Zack Wells of Tennessee; grandchildren, Dillon Dixon of Tularosa, Kaleb & Kylis Schorn of Peoria; and great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Dean; step-father, Ralph Benjamin and mother, Helen DeMoss Dean Benijamin; brother, Charles (Rosie) Dean and grandchild, Gray (Ashley) Dixon.

The family will greet friends at 10:00 am on March 9, 2023 at Scenic Chapel.

Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery at 12 pm with Kenneth Schorn officiating.

Pallbearers include Kenneth Schorn, Leonard Schorn, Micheal Dixon, Dillon Dixon, Jeremiah Dixon and Art Balderrama.  Honorary Pallbearers are Gray Dixon, Kabelb Schorn, Kylis Schorn.
