Rebecca Ann Carl

In loving memory of Rebeca Ann Carl.  Born on June 5, 1953, in Baltimore Maryland to her parents, John and Thelma Schilling, Rebecca passed away very early in the morning on Monday, May 20, 2024. The attending nurse stated that Rebecca left with the most peaceful expression and even radiant in appearance.  

She is preceded in death by her parents. Also, preceded by her husband, Edmund Carl who passed away in September 2017.  Mrs. Rebecca Carl, whom some folks had known her as “Becca” is survived by her three children; Margaret, Jason, and Thomas. 

After living in the northeastern States for most of her life, Rebecca moved to Alamogordo New Mexico in 2002. She was known as a very compassionate person thus her pursuit in a nursing career as an LPN, with a big heart in caring for others. The physician / nursing community and the patients she cared for truly enjoyed her precious attention, loved her dry sense of humor and her special laugh. She was a great listener too, and people would tell her their troubles. Tho, it was well known that if you didn’t want to hear her honest opinion, it’s best not to ask for it because she was totally honest when speaking her mind. She was never late and always early. Rebecca was very stoic with her own physical pain and not a ‘complainer.’ She literally worked up until the day she no longer walked without assistance.

Rebecca loved horses, riding them and adored her three dogs. She also did plastic needle work creating unique ‘tissue boxes.’ And, in her early adult life ‘back East’ she was involved in Native American culture with a close friend and created leather clothing for Pow-Wow events. Raising her children she challenged them to be good ‘readers.’  At one time they were reading 20 books in 3 months!  Her and daughter Margaret were “True Crime” enthusiasts and usually solved the case before the show episode ended.  Rebecca loved Facebook and Church attendance.
Her faith in The Lord Jesus was very strong.

She is remembered as a loyal friend who was very generous with her time, talents, and resources. 

Rebecca Ann Carl “Becca” will be missed by all who knew her.
