Neva Jane Danley Drunzer, 81, a longtime resident of Alamogordo, died Saturday, November 11, 2023 in El Paso, Texas.
Mrs. Drunzer was born May 13, 1942 in El Paso, Texas to Jess and Neva (Poindexter) Williams. She grew up in Esperanza and Anthony, Texas and graduated in 1959 from Gadsden High School and attended New Mexico State University graduating with a Bacherlor's/Master's of Science in Education.
At NMSU, Jane would meet her first husband, Jim Danley. Jane and her lifetime best friend, Judy Stubbs, would go to Alamogordo to join Jim and his friends and siblings and have a lot of fun at dances. After being married she owned cotton fields in Southern New Mexico before raising two daughters, Jesslynn and Cori in Alamogordo while operating several businesses. Jane was a partner in her father-in-law's company, Connie H. Danley Construction and helped Jim develop Sunrise Heights Subdivision, start Danley Concrete and build Shuttle Mini Storage Units which she owned until her death. Quarter horse racehorses were their hobby and the ranch became their fun business with many foals on the ground come spring.
After the tragic loss of her husband Jim in 1992 at the young age of 48, Jane taught school, enjoyed gardening and cooking and expanded the storage units. She eventually gave in to the courting of Mike Drunzer, her second husband. The two spent days traveling together but also gave each other time for their own life and hobbies.
She is survived by her husband, Mike of the family home; three daughters, Jesslynn Harrison and husband Casey of Fort Worth, Texas, Cori and Brianna Danley of Alamogordo; two grandchildren, Hillary Jane Harrison of New York and Holden Harrison of Burleson, Texas; and sister-in-law, Leona Danley.
Jane is preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Danley; parents, Jess and Neva Williams and sister, Carolyn Holdman.
Pallbearers include Casey Harrison, Holden Harrison, Matt Silva, Eddie Hinojos, Ross Toon and Andy Stubbs.
