Neva Geraldine Compary, well known as “Gerri”, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend passed away on August 27, 2023 in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

She was born to Belden Everet and Leona Neva (Storey) Robinson on October 6, 1926 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-one years, R.D. Compary, and her eldest son Jerry D. Compary. 

Gerri retired from a civil service career in medical supply for the Department of Defense at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico and in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  She was an active supporter of her church and belonged to several square dance clubs over the years.  She was known as a generous, kind and caring person who was always ready to give aid and support anyone in need.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Raymond (wife Dee) Compary, Leona Sue (husband Charles) Gilliland, Kent (wife Cindy) Compary and sisters, Evelyn Birdwell and June Denney along with nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Phillip Compary, Chad Gilliland, Adrian Gilliland, Mark Cochran, Jimmy Hunter and John Harry.

Alternate Pallbearers are Chola Martinez, Ryan Gilliland, Anthony Aguilar, Ryan Brown and Justin Mitchell.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 AM with Al Maxey to officiate on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at Scenic Chapel. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
