Michael Joseph Mosier passed away, Sunday, December 3, 2017 at his residence. He was born on July 16, 1940, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, to the late Edith (Rositis) Mosier and Fern Samuel Mosier.


Michael is survived by his spouse, Sharon Mosier of Alamogordo, one brother, Roger G. Mosier of Las Cruces, two daughters, Kimberly Skaggs of Las Cruces and Deborah Adeogba of Seattle WA. Mike and Sharon have four grandchildren: Kimberly has two sons, Christopher Morris and T J Skaggs. Deborah has a son, Femi Adeogba, and a daughter, Sophia Adeogba.


He served in the United States Air Force from 1962 through 1966. He then attended Oakland University in Rochester, MI, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1969.


He moved to Alamogordo in 1970 where he was employed as a Systems Engineer for the Department of Defense, Radar Backscatter Division (RATSCAT). He resigned in 1982 to take over the family business, Woven Stitch Crochet, which is still an active entity to this day.


He was very active in our community and a member of the following organizations:
Space City Evening Sertoma Club, Alamogordo Astronomy Club, Rio Grande Yacht Club, Alamogordo Radio Control Flyers Club, Otero County Bowhunters Club, American Legion, Post 44, Alamogordo Amateur Radio Club in conjunction with the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) under callsign WD5IOM until he became a silent key on December 3, 2017.


The memorial service for Michael Mosier will be held at 2:00 pm Friday December 8, 2017 at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.


The Mosier family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
