Mary Jeanette Dowell

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my sweet sweet momma, Mary Jeanette Dowell.  She was born in Ft Worth, Texas on May 31, 1933 to William and Dorothy Hand. The first of 3 children.  She left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 1, 2021. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and aunt; a beautiful Christian woman who loved God and set a faithful example to all who knew her.

She married Gene Boettner and had one daughter, Linda. Gene passed away in 1978. A couple of years later she met and married James M Dowell. Jim brought with him 3 sons to add to her family, Jimmy, Ronnie and Larry Dowell.  Jim passed away in 2000. 

Jeanette moved to New Mexico 3 years ago to be near her daughter Linda.  

Jeanette loved her Lord, her family, and her friends deeply. Music was always a big part of her life. She enjoyed singing at church in the choir, solos at church, weddings and other events. She was always requested to sing at any gathering. She will be truly missed. She also was such a great cook and cooked for many family gatherings. Her recipes are in abundance!

Survivors include her daughter Linda (Cliff); granddaughters Nanette and Melissa; great grandchildren Justin, Mailee and Emma; her brother Billy Hand (Kathy) and sister Carolyn Rothwell (Ray); many nieces and nephews; stepsons, Jimmy, Ronnie and Larry Dowell (Regina). 

The Dowell family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
