Marlene S Boeck, 70, went to her heavenly home August 5, 2017 following a valiant fight with cancer.
She was born in November 1946 to Ascencion and Abenina Orosco in Los Angeles, California. The family returned to Tularosa in 1952, where Marlene graduated from high school. She devoted her life to helping children first as a substitute teacher, then as the owner of an in-home day care center.
Marlene was a long-time member of Tularosa Community Church, serving in the hospitality ministry and the prayer chain.
Marlene was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Orosco, as well as her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Oldham and Elaina Nieto; and two grandsons, Tom Oldham and Adam Nieto.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 10 at 11:00 am at Tularosa Community Church with a reception to follow.
The Boeck family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
