Laura Sheffield

Laura McCue Sheffield went to Heaven the evening of Saturday, March 6, 2021.  She was welcomed  by her parents, William and Gardetta McCue and sister, Heather “Me, too” O’Dor.  Laurie was born on December 20, 1942 in Trenton, NJ and raised in Fallsington, PA. 

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James (JW) Sheffield CMSgt Ret. USAF; her five children -  Debbie (Joe) Cisneros, Chris (Lori) Hopkin, Mike (Teresa) Hopkin, Jenny (Tim) Turnbull and Jimmy (Chris) Sheffield; step-children Bobby Sheffield, Barbara Leatherwood, and Barry Sheffield;  grandchildren Megan Wade, Allison Nick, Dustin Hopkin, Holly Hopkin, Christina Hopkin, Stephanie Hopkin, Audrey McSweeney, Amy Gilmore, Caty Turnbull, Ryan Turnbull; many beloved great-grandchildren; 3 nieces - Sherry Rice, Karen Brown and Patty Gabriel; and sister-in-law Linda and husband Ken Pickett of Dallas, TX; friend Gailen Malett; and special friend and partner-in-crime Lucy and her husband Gilbert Espinosa. 

Laurie was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching the games with her grandson.  She loved family game days with her kids and grandkids and spending time on her patio. 

A special thank you to Sharon Weaver and the incredible staff at Alamogordo Home Healthcare and Hospice.  

The family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alamogordo Hospice. 

The Sheffield family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services
