Kira Davis Obituary

Kira, our precious, sweet girl went to be with God March 28, 2022, at her home in High Rolls. Kira was born in Alamogordo on September 21, 1991, to Raymond and Kathy Davis of Mayhill. She was our only little girl.  She came to our family to two older brothers, Janscen Davis of High Rolls, and Chris Davis of Mayhill. She was followed by another brother, Rylan Davis of Mayhill.  One girl in the middle of those boys made Kira a tough little girl.  She finally became a girly girl in high school. But she was always tough, and to the point and did not put up with anyone’s attitudes.  Kira graduated from Cloudcroft High School in 2010.  At the time of her death, she was working for the Cloudcroft Historical Society; and she absolutely loved her job, as she was so interested in history of the area, especially trains and logging. She always told us she wanted to find a “logger” like her daddy to marry.  She found that in Daniel Hewitt, her soul mate. Dan and her kids were Kira’s whole life.  Dan brought with him his kids, Korin and Jayden Hewitt plus an amazing and supportive mother-in-law, Janice Hewitt. Kira took to mothering those kids like an expert. Jackson Hewitt was born to Kira and Dan January 31, 2015. He was her heart, as she often said. Kira loved her children unconditionally.  Kira was a partner to Dan, but her love was being a mom to those three kids.  She loved teaching all three to cook different things. Kira was a fantastic cook and could outcook her mom many times over.

Kira is survived by her soul mate/husband Daniel Hewitt, her sons Jackson Hewitt, and Jayden Hewitt; and her daughter Korin Hewitt; her parents Raymond and Kathy Davis, mother-in-law Janice Hewitt, her brothers, Janscen who was Kira’s favorite hunting buddy, killing the biggest elk in the mountains at that time; Chris who was Kira’s almost equal in the knowledge of music; and Rylan Davis who was Kira’s partner in crime and almost twin. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Gwyneth Davis, Tabitha Davis, and Jenee Davis. They were her friends and sisters she never had.  Kira loved kids. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Madaleine and Broden Davis of High Rolls, Anna-Lee Davis of Mayhill, and Rambler Davis or Mayhill. Kira was the ultimate aunt that her nephews and nieces will never forget.   Kira also has two living grandparents that survive her, Faye Davis of Mayhill and Fred Griffin of Mayhill.  Kira is also survived by so much extended family that loved her; too many to mention here, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Kira was pre-deceased by her Memom, Marie Griffin and her grandpa, Bill Davis.

Our daughter was taken much too soon and will never be forgotten. She will live on in her parents, children, soul mate, her brothers, her in laws and nephews and nieces. She will be in her parents’ hearts always.

Services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the James Canyon Cemetery for family and friends.  Please no flowers, as Kira was a mountain girl all the way. She loved the mountains and would prefer to just be where wildflowers and trees grow. Pall bearers will be her brothers, Janscen, Chris, and Rylan Davis; uncles Danny and Billy Davis, and her daddy that loved her so very much, Raymond Davis.  Honorary pall bearer is Daniel Hewitt, Kira’s logger love of her life!

Kira touched so many lives on this mountain that it is impossible to cover it all.  Our baby girl will live on in her babies, her parents and her brothers and Dan.
