Joyce H. (McGee) Brown
July 21, 1927 - Born in Ft Worth, Texas ~ November 1, 2021 Passed peacefully in Kyle,Texas
Joyce entered the work force as a cosmetologist and instructor in Ft Worth Public Schools for six years before moving to Holloman AFB with her husband, Jack McGee in 1952. While living on base she was employed by Radio Plane and Telecommuting. They moved to Alamogordo in 1958 and had their only son, Jack (Mickey) McGee. Joyce was a Stay Home Mom for 13 years while being involved in First Presbyterian Church and several Civic groups. She returned to the work force in 1974 as church secretary for First Presbyterian Church. Her next job was with Security Bank and Trust. From there she was employed with Edward Jones Investment Company and her last employment was with Welcome Home Real Estate Company.
During this time she was very involved with her church, holding offices locally and Presbytery level including Elder. She was involved with P.E.O., holding all
offices locally and organizing a new chapter. She also was very active in Eastern Star, holding several offices including Worthy Matron. In 2012 she moved to Buda,Texas to be near her son.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alvis and Vina Hidler, her first husband, Jack H. McGee and second husband, Willis Brown and her sister, Peggy Franks.
Surviving family includes her son, Jack (Mickey) H. McGee, Jr., step children, Phyllis Williams, Roger Brown and Patty Sales and their families. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews and their families.
Joyce had many hobbies including needle work, Yoga, reading and bridge.
Joyce passed away peacefully on All Saints Day. What an appropriate day to meet her Lord and Savior. To all who knew Joyce, she lived her life as a dedicated, devoted Christian woman.
