John Howard Miller

John Howard Miller, 89, died peacefully on May 8, 2026 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on March 20, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to Reginald and Alicejane (Duff) Miller.

John and Mary Ann have been members of St Jude’s Parish since 1965 when the church opened.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Ann Miller; sons, John (Jack) Gerard Miller and his wife, Kari, of Scottsdale, AZ, Robert Reginald Miller and his wife, Terry, of Las Cruces, NM; and daughter, Susan Marie Smith and her husband, Terry, of Albuquerque, NM; 8 grandchildren, John R Miller, of Tucson, AZ, Stephen Miller and his wife, Amber of Linden, MI, Robert Getkin, of Las Cruces, NM, Kayleigh Getkin, of Las Cruces, NM, Tiffany Tadlock and her husband, Aaron, of Worland, WY, Christy Lauterbach and her husband, Ryan, of Las Cruces, NM, Shane Smith and his wife, Maggie, of Norfolk, VA, Kaley Smith of Baltimore, MD; 9 great-grandchildren Landon, Dylan,  Evan and Ryan Miller, of Linden, MI, Madison Ingraham and her husband, Beau, of Worland, WY, Joanna and Malachi Tadlock of Worland, WY, Layne Lauterbach, of Las Cruces, NM, Magnolia Smith, of Norfolk, VA; 2 great-great-grandchildren Charlotte and Obidiah Ingraham, of Worland, WY, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.

The funeral and Celebration of Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Parish, in Alamogordo, NM, preceded by the Rosary 45 minutes prior on Thursday, July 2, 2026.  Inurnment will follow at the St. Jude Parish Columbarium immediately afterward. There will be a reception in the Parish Hall at the conclusion of the ceremony.

The Miller family wishes to thank the Beehive home and Alamo Home Health and Hospice for the end-of-life care provided. The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
