John H Lassiter

John H Lassiter, 87, passed away on September 28, 2025 in Alamogordo, New Mexico.  He was born on September 6, 1938 in Boykins, Virginia to John Lassiter Sr. and Lelia Deberry Lassiter.

John served in the United States Air Force for 24 years and devoted his life as a preacher in the Church of God in Christ faith.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Lassiter; son, John H Lassiter III; daughter, Jacqueline Willett; daughter, Demetra Biglow; sister, Lella Baxter and brother-in-law, James Justin Baxter; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister and brothers-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Herbert Lassiter Sr.; mother, Lelia Beatrice Lassiter; sister, Mary Lizzie Richardson; brother, Jimmie Lassiter; brother, David Lassiter.

The family will greet friends at 9:00 am on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 for viewing at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ at 200 Virginia Avenue Alamogordo, New Mexico.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 also at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ.

Burial will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas.

The Lassiter family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
