Joe Chavez Sandoval

Joe Chavez Sandoval, 72, passed away on February 16, 2025 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born in Alamogordo on April 30, 1952, to Eloy and Demacia (Chavez) Sandoval. He was the middle son of three boys. Eloy was the oldest and Samuel the youngest.

He attended the schools in Alamogordo, NM.  After graduation in 1970, he enrolled at NMSU Las Cruces, NM graduating in 1975 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.  Under a cooperative agreement he attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida graduating with a Masters degree in Business Administration in 1977.  He worked with the US Navy in Orlando, Florida as a GS-12 civil servant.  He later opened and operated a home cleaning service in Boulder, Colorado.  Joe retired in 2012 and returned to Alamogordo where he rekindled his early life with friends and family.

The visitation will be Wednesday 9:30 to 10:30 am on February 26, 2025,  at St Jude Parish.

The Rosary for Joe Sandoval will be recited at 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Father Marcel Okonkwo, Celebrant.

Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.

Reception will be at Johnny Carinos, 260 Panorama Blvd. at 1:00 PM.

Pallbearers include Samuel Sandoval, Eloy Sandoval, David Sandoval, Marty Sandoval, Jerome Holly and Samuel L. Sandoval.  Honorary Pallbearers are Loyd Chavez, Eddie Joe Sandoval, Louie Sandoval, Ricky Simpson and Quinton McIver.

The Sandoval family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
