Jack H. McClung, 1945-2017, was born in Mineral Wells, Texas. He will be missed by family and friends.
The memorial service for Jack McClung will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home Chapel, 1334 North Scenic Drive.
Jack graduated from Alamogordo High School. He was a military dependent. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and worked as Security Police. Among his military tours of duty he served in Viet Nam. He attended NMSU Bachelor of Arts Program in Las Cruces, NM. He was a skilled potter, weight trainer at local gyms, and title holder in body building competitions. He enjoyed shooting at the firing range. He was a lifelong artist, enjoyed science, and was all around self-educated in several subjects.
He spent the last years of his life caring for his elderly mother, Aileen McClung, who predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his father, James H. McClung, and brother, Paul D. McClung. He will be missed, leaving behind, a sister, Kathie McClung of Tularosa; a step-brother, James Ray McClung of San Antonio, Texas; step-grandson, Carlos Sanchez of Marine Station, NC; James Robert McClung, nephew, of Alamogordo; and other nephews and nieces of New Mexico, Colorado and North Carolina.
Should friends and family desire, contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of America or local.
The McClung family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the services.
