Helen Maez Guerra

Our mother, Helen Maez Guerra passed away on October 23, 2025 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on May 15, 1934 in Bent, New Mexico to Santiago and Maria Telles Maez. 

Survivors include Carmelita Rhodes, Edward Richard Guerra, David Guerra and Stephanie Guerra. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Santiago and Maria Maez; daughter, Lupe Gaston; husband, Ricardo (Buddy) Guerra; and grandson, Michael Gaston.

Services will be at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa on November 5, 2025.  The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30. Rosary will be recited with the Blue Army, which she was a member of, from 10:30 to 11:00.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be from 11:00 to 12:00 followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Tularosa.

Pallbearers include:  Gilbert Gastan, Darren Foltz, Elias Guerra, Santiago Torres, Elijah Guerra, Joel Galvan.

Honorary pallbearers are Victoria Lakey, Luis Pino and Jose Cerventes.

The Guerra family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
