Helen Chavez

Helen was called home on June 6, 2021, at the age of 72 at her home in Alamogordo, NM. She was born on April 5, 1949, to Monica Salcido-Sanchez and Estalano Sanchez in Roswell, NM. Helen met and married Luis Gilbert Chavez Sr. “Pops” on June 20, 1964. She and her family relocated to San Patricio, NM. She was employed by Walmart for over 20 years. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Gilbert Chavez Sr.; daughter, Jeanette Chavez- Paige; grandson, Elijah Chavez; nephew, Isaiah “Blue” Sanchez and sister-in-law Christine Sanchez. 

She is survived by her sons: Luis Gilbert Chavez Jr. and wife, Peggy Kay Chavez of Alamogordo, NM and Joe Ray Ramirez and wife, Amelia Ramirez of San Patricio, NM; grandchildren: Luis Gilbert “JB” Chavez III and wife, Isabella Patricia Chavez of Alamogordo, NM, Ashley Chavez of Alamogordo, NM, Heaven-Leigh Chavez of Ruidoso, NM and Talisha Chavez of Ruidoso, NM; great grandchildren: Unique Ramirez, Mason Ramirez, Riley Ramirez, Luis Gilbert “MJ” Chavez IV, Angel Chavez, Damian Gonzalez, Serenity Chavez-Ontiveros, Trinity Valdez, Cali Chavez, and Lily Chavez; siblings: Rebecca “Becky” Sanchez, David “Tamo” Sanchez, Jacobo Sanchez, and several nieces and nephews; fur babies: Baby, Sissy, and Negrita.
 
Rosary Services will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in San Patricio, NM on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 8:00 A.M.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in San Patricio, NM on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 9:00 A.M.
Memorial Reception will follow to 27940 Via La Capilla, San Patricio, NM.
