Gaylon Lee Fuller. Born January 11, 1972, passed December 14, 2021.
Gaylon is survived by his parents, Charles Phillip and Lois Fuller; oldest brother Wesley Fuller and youngest sister Lara Ann Fuller; his son Gentry Fuller and daughter Shaylee Fuller. Niece's and nephew's include Makayela and Dustin Fuller, Chase Messer, Bailee Fuller, Cortlin and Caleb Smalls, Abigail Messer, and great niece Danielle Fuller.
Gaylon is proceeded in death by brother Bryan Austin Fuller and sister Annell Dawn Fuller.
Gaylon attended Cloudcroft Municipal School, NMSU, the Firefighter’s Training Academy in Socorro, NM and graduated the police academy in Silver City. His first post in law enforcement was in Hurley, NM as a patrol officer. From there, Gaylon accepted a position with the Roswell Police Dept. where he then resided and married Lacee Huffmon in 1995. He soon transitioned from the police force to work as a DOT law enforcement officer for the state of NM. Later, he accepted a Project/Terminal Manager position with CAST Transportation in Carlsbad, NM. This eventually led him to find his career with Nuclear Waste Partnership LLC as a Training Specialist in 2018. Throughout his life’s work, his passion and enthusiasm for volunteer fire prevention touched every aspect of his being. His first fire Department was Mayhill VFD and he later helped to establish the Upper Cox Canyon VFD. Once settled down in Carlsbad, Gaylon re-entered the VFD field with La Huerta VFD. This led to his recruitment of Chief at Happy Valley VFD. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with, as well as the community he served.
