Esther E Daniel

Esther E. Daniel of Alamogordo, went to the Lord on November 12, 2021, after a short illness. 

Esther was born August 3, 1935, in Amarillo, Texas, to E.A. and Louise Collie. She married Claude Daniel in Albuquerque and had one son, Bill.

Esther devoted her life to being a full-time wife and mother, moving around the US to Claude’s duty-stations, and finally to Alamogordo in 1977, after he retired from the US Air Force. 
Her life was one of simplicity and service. With trust, she loved all who God put in her life, honoring people from life's many different stations, orientations, and beliefs. She deeply loved her family and friends. She had an abiding faith in God. She was a constant volunteer with the GCRMC Auxiliary Program for many years. She also made a perfect sausage gravy and a heavenly meringue. It didn’t matter what you wanted to cook or bake, she always had most (if not all) of the ingredients you needed already stocked in her kitchen or pantry.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude; her siblings: Erva Owens, Ernie Collie, Mary Burns, and Charlie Collie; and her parents, E.A. and Louise (Scroggins) Collie.

Survivors include her son, Bill, and his wife, Kate, of Santa Fe, NM; her granddaughter, Alissandra, and fiancé, Albert Ruiz, and their children, Seray, Calvin, and Trinity, of Phoenix, AZ; her brother and sister-in-law, Eddy and Virginia Collie, of Amarillo, TX; her sister and brother-in-law, Sue (Collie) and Rick Summar, of Amarillo, TX; her brother-in-law, Robert Daniel, of Oklahoma City, OK; special niece, Carol (Summar) Simpson of Amarillo, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10am on November 16, 2021, at Monte Vista Cemetery, Alamogordo, with the Rev Joe Bryant of Grace Baptist Church officiating.

The Daniel family has entrusted her to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the arrangements.
