Dreena Maureen (Krout) McGinn, 82, died at her daughter’s home in San Antonio, Texas. She lost her battle with lymphoma cancer on Friday, May 21, 2021. She was the widow of Thomas Michael McGinn, who passed away on August 4, 2007.
Mrs. McGinn was the daughter of the late James Henry and Grace Leona (Lehman) Krout. She was born on June 19, 1938, in Springfield Township, York County, Pennsylvania. She married Charles William Bose Jr. on June 11, 1955, in the same area, but they moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico in 1959. They were the parents of four children. They later divorced in 1983. On October 12, 1991, she married Thomas Michael McGinn, and became the stepmother of three sons.
Mrs. McGinn lived in Alamogordo for 58 years before she moved to live with her daughter and family in San Antonio. She worked as a bookkeeper and financial aid administrator for many years, and when she married Tom, she supported his work in building the Pistachio Tree Ranch. She loved to cook, to travel, and to work puzzles, but her greatest joy in life was her family, strengthened by her love in the Lord and Savior.
She is survived by three sons - Charles William (Mary) Bose III, Las Cruces, New Mexico; Gregory James Bose, La Luz, New Mexico; Kevin Wayne (Nancy) Bose, Honesdale, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Sabrina Maureen (Gary) Phillips, San Antonio, Texas; three stepsons, Christopher M. (Silva) McGinn, Amsterdam, Netherlands; Sean M. (Mary) McGinn, Oakton, Virginia; Timothy D. (Clarissa) McGinn, Alamogordo, New Mexico; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Charles William Bose IV and Angela Bose Phillips.
Visitation will be held at Scenic Chapel, 1334 N. Scenic Drive, Alamogordo, New Mexico on Thursday, June 3, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A mass will be held on Friday, June 4 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church, 4 La Luz Road, with Fr. Marcel Okonkwo officiating with a rosary immediately prior. A family graveside service will follow at the adjoining cemetery.
