Dora Lee Obituary

Dora Lujan Lee, 86, peacefully went to walk with the Lord on July 12, 2021.  She was born February 13, 1935 in Alpine, TX to Amelia Gallego and Concepcion Lujan. Dora married John Lee, and resided in Cloudcroft, NM from 1976 through October 2014 in the home John built with his own two hands.

Dora worked with the rails to trails group making such trails as OSHA TRAIL in Cloudcroft, that many people continue to enjoy to this day. She enjoyed Bunko and socializing with friends. Up to near the very end, multiple times per day, she would walk the roads in their community with enough energy to keep her grandson wondering if he could keep up.  Dora loved it when her grandchildren would come to visit during holidays and summer.  Her grandchildren through marriage adored her because she was always available when they wanted to walk in the woods, talk or play monopoly.  She also baked and cooked delicious meals especially for them.

Survivors include nephew Johnny Fitzgerald and wife Joan of Dayton, TX; nephew Sammy Fitzgerald and wife Tracie of Balmorhea, TX; niece, Anna Burns and husband Drew of Corsicana, TX; nephew James Fitzgerald of Hull, TX; nephew Randall Fitzgerald and wife Angelia of LaPorte, TX; and great-niece Chesney Fitzgerald of LaPorte, TX.

Also surviving Dora are her stepdaughter Arlene Scott and husband Mike, grandsons Joshua, Justin and David Scott, and caregiver Jennifer Harris.

Dora was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and sister Annie Donohoo.
