Donald Smith Obituary

Final Salute to a Military Veteran Master Sergeant Donald J. Smith. Born into Time: May 2,1949 Born into Eternity: January 28,2021

Donald James Smith, known to his family and friends as DJ, passed away Thursday January 28th 2021.  He was a long term resident of Alamogordo, New Mexico.

DJ traveled the world and left his positive life print globally! He lived his life to the fullest with enthusiasm, energy, fun, and charismatic personality! Everyone he met always felt great around him!

DJ was a Purple Heart war veteran of the US Air Force. He served valiantly and honorably as a career serviceman, he was a warrior!  Over the years, he always kept in touch with many of his military and Beth Center friends.

His family will remember and celebrate his blessed life. DJ would be the first to say that he had a wonderful life.  He was an optimist and always considered himself a very blessed and fortunate man, because he was surrounded by much love. He was a noble and gentle man.

All of his loving friends and family were so fortunate to know and love him as a friend, father, grandfather, uncle, husband and brother.

DJ leaves to cherish his memory, sister Dr. Hollis R. Batista and husband Josue, wife Mary Smith, children: Malik Smith and wife Jane Smith, Corey Eaddy and wife Kiki Eaddy, Mellissa Walker and husband Joshua Walker, Tianna Arrington (loved as a daughter), grandchildren: Makaili (granddaughter) and Noble (grandson), nephew Chris Edmonds and life partner Sharon Crytzer and a host of other relatives and friends.

DJ was preceded in death by his parents Columbus and Mary Smith and sister Arzola Lee Martin.

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” - Irish proverb

Done by his sister Dr. Hollis R. Batista
