Obituary

Donald Earl Prock, 84 (11/21/1936 - 01/07/2021)

Donald Earl Prock, or as he was lovingly known as “Don,” went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 7, 2021.

He is survived by his sisters Verneece Miller of Amarillo, Texas and Verna Woolsey of Tucson, Arizona and several nieces and nephews. In addition, family friends Tammy Simpson and husband Steven of Corrales, New Mexico, Paul Guttke and wife Alyson of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and their children and grandson. He was loved by many in La Luz, NM and Albuquerque, NM.

Don was preceded in death by his parents William Omer Prock and Lula Inez Prock and dear family friends Alvin and Marjorie Mese, who lovingly cared for him for nearly 50 years.

He was born and raised in Bonham, Texas and lived there until he joined the military and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After being discharged he settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico until the early 1980’s when he moved to La Luz, New Mexico.

Don was a strong and determined man of God and will be missed by those who knew him. He was a member of Sacred Vision Church Inc. in La Luz, NM.

Special thanks to the wonderful owners of Albuquerque Uptown Assisted Living, Glen and Annabel Garcia; Caregiver manager, Terricia Stevenson; and the nurses and doctors at Hospice of New Mexico who provided invaluable care to Don for the last three years.

A private graveside funeral will be held at Monte Vista Cemetery on Friday, January 15, 2021 in Alamogordo, NM at 11:00am with Rev. Paul Guttke officiating. Due to the COVID Pandemic, attendance limits have been met.

The Prock family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
