Daniel Harrison Heisler

Daniel Harrison Heisler , 82, passed away Monday evening after a long illness.  Dan was born in Forest Grove, Oregon to Dean and Audrey Heisler. 

Dean graduated from high school in Forest Grove, Oregon and enlisted in the Army in September 1962.  Dan attended the University of Texas, the University of Alaska, Park College and Troy State.  Dan spent the majority of his military career at Ft Bliss, Texas.  After 21 years active duty, Dan retired from the military and continued to work for a DOD contractor.  Dan and Carol relocated from El Paso, TX to La Luz, NM in 1993.  Dan ended up working at White Sands Missile Range as a Patriot Missile System test conductor for 20 years, before retiring in 2005.

Dan was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Daniel had three daughters, Kim, Angie and Pam, affectionately referred to as his "KAP."  Dan and Carol traveled all over the United States, Europe and went on several cruises.  Dan and Carol recognized God was good to them in many ways.  For thirty-eight years they spent the month of November in Mazatlán, Mexico working with the Vineyards church.  Dan was instrumental in the implementation of water purification systems that were placed in many of the residents' homes.  In 2019 because of health issues, they turned the page in their book and stayed close to home.

Dan is survived by his wife, Carol, daughter, Angela Danner, and numerous grand and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Michael and Steven; and two daughters, Kimberly Johnson and Pamela Damron.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cope and Love Inc in Alamogordo, Salvation Army, St. Jude, or your favorite charity.

The family will greet friends at Scenic Chapel on Monday June 30, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Burial will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery Tuesday July 1, 2025 at 9:30 am .

The Heisler family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
