Dale Ritchie

Dale Ritchie was born in Mowrystown, Ohio on April 15,1938 to the late Cray Lee Ritchie and Dorothy  L. Earlywine. Dale passed away at his home surrounded by family in Alamogordo, New Mexico on March 9, 2022 at the age of 83.

Dale is survived by his wife of 64 years, Linda S. (Kirk) Ritchie and two children, his son, Alan Dale Ritchie and wife, Donna of Waxahachie, TX and his daughter, Lucresha Ann (Ritchie) Garcia and husband, Nicholas of Alamogordo, NM.  Dale had 7 Grandchildren:  Lauren Ritchie, Alan Dale Ritchie Jr and wife, Erica, Hannah (Ritchie) Keeler and husband, Garrett, Luke Ritchie and Karissa Burgess, Abigail Ritchie, Daniel Ladd and wife, Ronda, Latisha (Ladd) Miller and husband, Nathan.  He has 2 great grandchildren:  Logan Dale Miller and Stellan Cooper Herbst-Ritchie.  He is also survived by his only brother, Kenneth Ritchie.

Dale was proceeded in death by his parents, Cray Lee Ritchie and Dorothy  L. (Earlywine) Pitzer; sisters: Ardena (Ritchie) Kiscaden, Lenora (Ritchie) Traylor;  brothers: Ray Ritchie, Arnold (Bear) Ritchie.

Dale and his wife moved to Alamogordo in 1958 he started working at Downtown Gulf. Dale eventually purchased Downtown Gulf and worked there until he started the Ritchie Distributing Company.   He was a distributor of Gulf, Conoco and Chervon petroleum products in Las Cruces, Tularosa, Ruidoso, Carrizozo, and Alamogordo. He also owned and operated the LAZY DR restaurant in Tularosa, NM.

Dale loved to hunt in the New Mexico mountains and surrounding states.  He had many hunting stories of his successes. He was able to go on his last hunt in November, bagging an elk.  Dale and his best friend and confidant Frank Chavez spent many years together hunting and developing their hunting tales.  Frank called Dale one shot Charlie.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at New Heart Cowboy Church 1311 Galway Dr. Alamogordo.  Live streaming of the service at the Cowboy Church will be available on their website.

Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery
