Casell Davis Jr. was born on February 28, 1954 to Casell Davis Sr. and Mattie Sanders. The Davis family resided in St. Louis, Missouri where Casell grew up and graduated high school. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1973. He then met Katherene Moore and the couple were married on September 23, 1974. They welcomed their son Casell Anthony Davis on February 28, 1976, a day in which Casell Jr. and his son share the same birth date.
During the early days of his military experience, Casell and Katherene were stationed to Griffiss AFB, Rhome, New York; Randolph AFB, San Antonio, Texas; Eielson AFB, Fairbanks, Alaska; twice transferred to Holloman AFB in Alamogordo. The couple was finally able to establish permanent residence in Alamogordo, New Mexico in 1983. Casell continued to travel for work assignments including Kunsan AFB in South Korea. They joined Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in 1985 where he faithfully served as Head Usher, Choir member and was part of the Trustee Board.
After a successful career in the Air Force, Casell retired as T. Sgt completing 20 years of service in 1994. He then accepted a position in Saudi Arabia that lasted seven years. When he then returned to Alamogordo, he attended college and worked part-time at K-Mart until he was able to secure a Civil Service job which he worked for 17 years. Throughout his tenure in the Civil Service community, Casell received numerous awards and was recognized as "Civilian of the Year" for his dedicated hard work.
Outside of his career, Casell was also instrumental as a mentor to young men. He was a part of the "Big Brothers Big Sisters" Organization for 14 years and received "Big Brother of the Year" award in 2016.
Casell had a knack for fashion. He loved to dressup! Even when he wasn't wearing a suit, he was still dressed precisely to-a-T. He also had a love for his cars (and cleaning them) working in his yard, traveling the world and was always ready for a good game of Dominoes. He was a true fan of WWE Wrestle Mania and was able to attend several live wrestling matches.
Most of all, he loved God and his family unconditionally. His son and grandchildren were his heart while he cherished "date night" at the movies with his wife.
Casell Davis Jr. is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 1/2 years, Katherene; his son, Casell Anthony Davis; grandson, Devynn Davis; granddaughter, Kaselle Davis; godson, Isaiah Nelson; sister, Catherine Smith (Ernest Smith); several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Casell Sr. and Mattie Davis; his brothers, Floyd Davis, Chester Virgil Davis and Charles Leroy Davis.
