Carlos Mendoza Sanchez (62) was born February 5, 1955 in Alamogordo and died on February 22, 2017 in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Alamogordo High School, served in the U.S. Army in Communications. He was a carpenter and painter by trade and was employed at the NMSU-A at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his son, Carlos B. (Jessica) Sanchez, USMC at New River in North Carolina; his step-children, William (Rhonda) Telles of Las Cruces and Jamie (Joley) Ferguson of Ramsey, Minnesota; his sister, Eduvina Noriega; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; Debbie (Richard) Bradley; Veronica McNeilly; David (Lori) Noriega and numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed camping, music, painting, art and was a faithful fan of the Green Bay Packers. He loved his dogs and hunting with Abe and Sasso Benitez.
Cremation will take place on February 28th and his memorial service will be held on Friday, March 3rd at 10AM at Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home. Reception will follow at the ICC Parish Hall on Delaware Avenue. He will rest with his son, Jamie, at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso at a later date.
Carlos was preceded in death by his mother, Trinidad; father, Ruben; brothers, Ruben and Oscar; sister, Viola; his son, Jamie; and brother-in-law, Antonio Noriega.
The Sanchez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
