Betty Jane Flowers

Betty Jane Flowers, age 72, passed away on February 26, 2025, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on July 26, 1952, in Mineral Wells, Texas to R.L. Flowers and Coy Brown Flowers.

Betty was a nurse for 37 years specializing in geriatric care. In her younger years, she liked to garden, go to the mountains and camping, and was an avid reader of books. She was born in Texas but had a love for New Mexico her whole life. She made her move here 21 years ago and never looked back. She spent her last years here being a companion and then a caregiver for her older brother, Samuel. She loved to spend time with her cousins and other family here in New Mexico. Betty took great joy in her dog, Rebel, as well.

Betty was mother to Hiram Langley of Graham, Texas , Jason Langley, of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Belita Laxson of Weatherford, Texas . She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eli Langley, Emma Levelle, Timothy Langley, Daniel Langley, Rebecca Thomas, and Nikki Sheehan. She was an amazing Great Aunt to Sheila Jones, Shawanna Laton, Tiffiny Starr, Samantha Flowers, and Bunky Flowers. She was also loved by numerous great grandchildren, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, R.L. and Coy Flowers; her brother, Samuel Flowers; and her sister, Sue Southern.

The family will be having a celebration of life service for Betty at The Chapel at Christ Community Church in Alamogordo on Saturday, March 1 at 12 noon. Refreshments will be served and we will have fellowship following the service. Louie Olivas will be officiating.

The Flowers family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
