Bernard Andrew Korch

Bernard Andrew Korch, 82, passed away on November 26, 2024, at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. He was born on January 20, 1942 in Dunlo, Pennsylvania to Peter and Mary (Mihalick) Korch.

Bernie (Bruko) was a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force. After travelling to many places around the world, he settled down with his family in Alamogordo, New Mexico where he worked for Dyncorp International until his retirement. Calling Alamogordo his home for over 40 years, Bernie (Bruko) was an avid outdoors-man who loved to hunt, fish, and camp with friends or just go exploring back roads in the Sacramento mountains with his Jeep. He was also a member of the local VFW Post 7686 and Moose Lodge 2016 where he would meet with his friends, and talk about the good ol’ times he had with his military friends. Bernie (Bruko) was a devout Catholic attending St. Jude Parish. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who lived a simple life, never asking much for himself, but always willing to give his love and support to others.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elena Korch; daughter, Mary Korch of Albuquerque, NM; son, Dan Korch and wife Margi of Vail, AZ; grandchildren, Katarina Scott, Ian Korch, and Lorelei Korch.

Bernie (Bruko) is preceded in death by father Peter Korch, mother Mary (Mihalick) Korch, brother Joseph Korch, and sisters Helen Rubal and Marion Tschachler.

The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Saturday February 22nd at St Jude Mission Parish with Fr Marcel Okonkwo officiating. Burial will follow at St Jude Mission Columbarium. Urn bearer will be Daniel Korch.

The Korch family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
