Barbara Lynelle "Bobbie Lee" Wood

Barbara Lynelle Wood, 84, passed away on July 29, 2021 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on October 14, 1936 in Stanton, Texas to Verbin Graves and Jesse (Armstrong) Batte.

Barbara enjoyed traveling, dancing and going to special events with her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always willing to help people and she loved to organize special events such as her class reunions.

Survivors include her daughters, Dianne Posbeck (Bill), Jo Ann Belcher, sons, Larry Cady (Cindy), Kenneth Cady (Kris), a sister Linda Becker and a brother Bill Batte. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Wood, her parents Verbin Graves and Jesse Batte, a son Brandon Wood, a son-in-law Luther Belcher, a brother Donald Graves, a sister Janie Hudman and a great granddaughter Stephanie French.

The family will greet friends during the viewing which will be held at the Scenic Chapel on Wednesday August 4, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm.

The funeral service for Barbara will be held at 10am Thursday August 5, 2021 at the Scenic Chapel with Chaplain Tom Kearns officiating.

Burial will follow at Mountain Acres Cemetery in Mayhill.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

A fellowship meal will be provided at the Bethal Baptist Church following the service.
