Amalia Arenivar

Amalia Garcia Arenivar, 84, passed away on February 10, 2025 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on November 21, 1940 to Juan and Maria Garcia. 

Survivors include her children, Cecilia Shaw, Pete Ortiz, Patricia (Patsy) Montoya, Teresa Swain, Annette Marroquin, Deanna Holguin, Gerard Hernandez, Elfido Hernandez III, Jazmin Arenivar, and Jesus (Chuy) Pacheco.  Her surviving siblings are Miguel (Mickey) Garcia, Chris (Pelon) Rodriguez and Juan (Pepe) Garcia.  

Her surviving grandkids are Sidney, Nicole, Tyrea, Kenneth Jr., Mario, Andrew, Eperanza, Viviana, Ezequiel, Aracely, Joseph, Monique, Pedro Jr., Christina, Sharissa, Spencer, Gerard, Marla, George Jr., Steven, Alex, Crystin, Vanecia, Daniel, Isabella, Mirenda, Curtis Jr., Natasha, Katrina, Corena, Tyrena, Abigail, and Erick.  

Her surviving great grandkids are Ja'Neil, Justina, Dezi, Nehemaiah, Ta'Leigha, Dane, Ke'Maurian, Summer, Desi, Aric, Alex, Patience, Timothy, Adam, Brian, Tray, Isaiah, Isabelle, Isaline, Karmello, Kurtissy, Heaven, Ja'Vell, Le'Veon, Ja'Rihya, Jair'Nee, Trevionne, Robert, Amaree, Amya, Jamal Jr., Amani, Andrew Jr., Damien, Raymond, Monique, Mariah, Marcos Jr., Martene, Mario, Erick Jr., Riko, Caesar, Josiah, Graham, Luna, Gerard Jr., Idella, Josiah, Liam, Mason, Savannah, Isiah, Jacob.

Her surviving great great grandkids are Noah, Angelynn, Sumana, Myla, Aubriella.

She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Garcia, and mother, Maria Garcia; sisters, Virgina (Lica) Salcido, Mary Jane Hill, Remona (Mona) Torres; brother, Bobby Garcia; grandchild, Abraham Pascual; and great grandchildren, Alyssa, Giselle, and Enrique.

Services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Scenic Chapel, 1334 N Scenic Drive, Alamogordo, NM.  The visitation will be at 11:00 am the funeral service at 12:00 pm.  Services will be followed by a reception at Cornerstone Chapel, 88 Alamotero Lane, Alamogordo, NM 88310.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the services.
